In a groundbreaking move toward digital inclusion, Ability Impact Centre (AIC) successfully hosted Boldmark Bootcamp 1.0, a 2-day immersive digital workshop held on July 30–31, 2025, at Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
The training gathered young persons with disabilities, fresh graduates, and aspiring entrepreneurs determined to grow their visibility and income through digital skills and storytelling.
The Co-Founder of Ability Impact Centre, Akpevwe Peters disclosed that the bootcamp forms part of centre’s broader mission to empower young Africans with disabilities through media, technology, and strategic communication.
“Our participants received practical training in digital tools, personalised coaching in branding and communication, and the opportunity to network in a supportive, excellence-driven community,” she noted.
One of the highlights was a keynote address by Mrs. Damilola Osinusi, MD of Selai Gas Station, who delivered an inspiring message on how digital inclusion can be unlocked for persons with disabilities through corporate leadership, and the sustainable steps her organisation is taking to integrate persons with disabilities into its workforce and CSR agenda.

The bootcamp offered participants several insights into digital skills such as an insightful masterclass on corporate storytelling, digital content creation, freelancing opportunities, and business setups in the digital space.
These were delivered by seasoned professionals like Oladipo Adesida, COO of Verdant Zeal, Feyishola Ogunko, a renowned digital freelancer, Agatha Acheneje, social media specialist, and Adebowale Akinfaderin, COO of Listed Hosting. They all brought practical insights on brand positioning, content strategy, and visibility in the digital age.
One of the participants, Abayomi Soetan, an entrepreneur with disability stated that, “Now I understand the need to set digital goals and make an impression online for my brand,” Also testifying, Uwaechie Maryanne, blind small business owner, added that “the session on content strategy completely changed how I’ll promote my small business.”
“The Boldmark Bootcamp is about flipping the script,” said Kolawole Lawal, a board member of the centre. “For too long, persons with disabilities have been excluded from the digital revolution. They are not waiting to be included anymore, they are building their own table,” Lawal noted.
With over 100 applications across Nigeria, over 20 were carefully selected for this cohort. Boldmark Bootcamp stands as a clarion call for more inclusive, tech-driven capacity-building programs across Nigeria and Africa at large.
The event was proudly supported by organisations committed to youth empowerment, innovation, and disability inclusion, which include; Selai Gas Limited, Techly Marketing, and Sam Ijiyokunola Photography, and kthalm Logistic.
Ability Impact Centre continues to redefine leadership, creativity, and excellence for persons with disabilities, ensuring that no voice is left behind in the digital future.
