Our Story
Ability Impact Centre is a disabled-led, Africa-rooted movement using media, policy, and technology to shift the narrative around disability from pity to power. Born in 2007 as a grassroots TV show by a young disabled graduate, AIC is growing into a leading voice in disability and development communication across Nigeria and Africa. We don’t run charity drives. We raise change makers. We train and mentor persons with disabilities to become digital storytellers, media professionals, tech innovators, and policy influencers, empowering them to take the lead in shaping inclusive systems. Our track record includes: launching campaigns that influenced inclusive policy, empowering youth with disabilities to lead public discourse, building digital tools and content for disability inclusion. At AIC, every face has a story, every story builds momentum, and every partnership takes us closer to a continent where disability is seen as potential, not limitation. We’re not just asking for a seat at the table. We’re building a better one, with you.
