Akpevwe Peters
Co-Founder, Partnerships
Akpevwe Peters is a passionate disability and development advocate, respected for her powerful voice and action-driven leadership within Africa’s inclusion space.
As Co-founder of Ability Impact Centre (AIC), a disability-led organisation that empowers young persons with disabilities through communication, technology, and media, she plays a pivotal role in shaping narratives, building capacity, and driving advocacy that challenges societal limitations and opens doors to opportunity.
Living with a disability herself, Akpevwe doesn’t just speak for inclusion, she embodies it. Her lived experience fuels her mission to dismantle stigma and push for equitable access to education, employment, and digital empowerment for young people with disabilities across Nigeria and Africa.
In her professional capacity, Akpevwe is a Customer Acquisition and Compliance Analyst at MTN Nigeria, where she brings together the worlds of data, compliance, and customer-centric strategy. With over 8 years of customer engagement expertise and more than 2 years specializing in acquisition strategy, she has consistently delivered measurable business impact. Her strength lies in translating data insights into strategic models that enhance how organizations attract and retain high-value users.
Her dual lens, as both a seasoned corporate professional and a resilient changemaker, allows her to advocate with insight, lead with compassion, and inspire with results. Whether she’s building data models at MTN, mentoring young disability advocates, or co-designing inclusive campaigns at AIC, Akpevwe is driven by one mission: to make room for every voice, every story, and every potential, especially the overlooked ones.
Beyond the boardroom and advocacy stage, Akpevwe is a lover of film and deep conversations. She thrives on connection, purpose, and the power of community, often surrounded by friends who remind her that joy, too, is resistance.
